Pres. Nixson said the country would bring back the draft in time of war? If America TRUELY SUPPORTS OUR TROOPS why do we allow just a select few to bare the brunt for four years plus an extended 1 for a total of five years. How many immigrants would be protesting to try and get in and stay to be come US citizens if they had to fight for America's Freedom and be put in harms way as soon as they got here? <BR/>When I was standing in the my courthouse and heard an immigrant who only could speak ONE line of English and I quote "Give me all that I deserve"! I looked to see if her feet were dry from getting off the boat. What is up with that? Would she give here babies over fight for our freedom or just take what she deserves? Will she be granted the low cost housing instead of our soldiers when they come and don't have anything left because they are single? My bet there would be thousands getting on the ship and leaving.<BR/>It is true our soldiers volunteered to protect our country. It is true that many middle class kids went into the military to risk their lives because they didn't have good health care for their families and a roof over their heads. It is also true that many middle class kids went in to give up four years of their life because it's the only way they could see they could get an college education. <BR/>My son volunteered for the education and to see the world and to be all he could be for 4 years. Will now it's been 5 years. He was going to go to college last September and I had a Welcome Home Party with a pig roast than he had to go back in. He has seen 4 years of sand in the desert reaching 128 degrees in the summer time, hearing shelling 24-7, and very often working 24 hours a day because there is NOT enough help! When he comes home to me he will be just a piece of meat. Use the kids up. Who in their right mind would want to be treated like this? We support our troops "MY ASS". America pays LIP SERVICE and throws few select troops a few crumbs and puts it on the news how wonderful they are. When his dad was in the military during Viet Nam, 1 year world tour, pillows were furnished and he could fly home on stand-by. <BR/>When you don't have much money from putting your life on the line everyday and you have to spend a month's salary or charge it to fly to see your family which means everything to them, you do it without thinking.
